Before Using ZYRTECTM Allergen Shield Spray for the First Time
ZYRTECTM Allergen Shield Spray does not dispense a metered dose. Before first use, test the pressure needed to administer an ideal dose. To do this, shake the bottle and remove the cap. Aim the bottle away from yourself and squeeze the bottle into the air. Squeeze firmly for approximately a 6-inch plume.
If also using a medicated nasal spray or saline nasal rinse, use before applying ZYRTECTM Allergen Shield Spray.
Directions For Use
STEP 1.
Gently blow your nose. Breathe out.
STEP 2.
Shake the bottle and remove cap. Do not leave cap unattended around children.
STEP 3.
Squeeze the bottle away from yourself to test the pressure needed for an ideal dose. Use both hands if necessary.*A mist of approximately 6 inches for adults and children 12 yrs+
STEP 4.
Place nozzle of bottle just inside the nose and quickly squeeze the bottle to deliver 1 or 2 sprays while gently inhaling.
STEP 5.
Repeat steps on the other nostril. Reapply if you blow your nose.
How Often to Use ZYRTECTM Allergen Shield Spray
ZYRTECTM Allergen Shield Spray may be used as needed for up to 3 times per day. The key to getting the best out of ZYRTECTM Allergen Shield Spray is to make sure a constant layer of product is maintained across the inner lining of the nose. Doing this creates the barrier between aggravating allergens and the sensitive membrane within the nasal tract.
When to use ZYRTECTM Allergen Shield Spray
Apply ZYRTECTM Allergen Shield Spray before entering an environment containing airborne allergens, e.g., going outside, walking the dog, going to the park, visiting a friend with animals, or participating in outdoor sports. Reapply ZYRTECTM Allergen Shield Spray each time you blow your nose.
If ZYRTECTM Allergen Shield Spray is not providing enough symptom relief
Reread all the instructions above and carefully follow steps 1-5. If ZYRTECTM Allergen Shield Spray was not applied prior to an allergic response, wait for symptoms to subside (about 30 minutes), then try again. Talk to a doctor about what medication is available to supplement ZYRTECTM Allergen Shield Spray, a drug-free choice in your fight against allergies.

Do not use if safety ring on cap is broken or missing.
Avoid contact with eyes. If product gets in eyes, rinse with water.
To avoid contamination do not use this product for more than one person.
Keep out of reach of children.
Stop use and consult doctor if symptoms do not improve within 7 days or are accompanied by fever.
During the first use, you may experience a tingling or burning sensation in the nose or light sneezing. This is a transient sensation that should go away as you become used to taking ZYRTECTM Allergen Shield Spray.
You may also feel some form of irritation, especially if your nasal membranes are already inflamed or irritated. This should subside quickly.
If you experience serious discomfort after product application, consult a doctor.
Some individuals can feel a slight sensation of a blocked nose. This is normal and is the feel of the barrier created by ZYRTECTM Allergen Shield Spray. In case of experiencing more than a slight sensation of a blocked nose, it is possible the product is being overused.
Storage
Keep the bottle and especially nozzle dry at all times. Do not rinse the bottle with water or any other liquid. Store at room temperature, away from moisture. Once opened, use within 3 months.
Cleaning the Bottle
Should the bottle come into contact with the nose or moisture, wipe the bottle thoroughly with a clean, dry, unused tissue before replacing the cap. Only replace the cap when you are sure that no sign of dampness remains. Never use a bottle if you suspect it has been contaminated.
