Strengthen baby's skin from within

Aveeno Baby® is formulated with essential ceramides and oat oil that helps stimulate the skin’s natural ceramide production up to 3X*.

Oat lipids activate PPAR and induce Ceramide Formation in skin cells

  • Human keratinocytes were treated with vehicle or oat lipid extract for 7 days

  • Oat lipid extracts increased PPARa and PPARB/S receptor and expression of target genes in primary human keratinocytes

  • Cells treated with oat oil for 7 days showed a 71% increase in total ceramide levels compared with vehicle control.

Whole oat oil is rich in essential lipids

When fractionated, whole oat oil is composed of a mixture of lipids, falling into 5 main lipid classes:

  • Triglycerides

  • Diglycerides

  • Free fatty acids

  • Phospholipids

  • Smaller amounts of sterols, phosphatidylethanolamine, and other compounds

Triglycerides

Diacylglycerols

Free Fatty Acids

Phospholipids

Clinical grading showed Aveeno® colloidal oatmeal lotion had significantly greater improvements in:
