Reassess your patient if they need to use Nicorette® Gum longer than:

  • 6 months in the Stop to Quit program

  • 12 months in the REDUCE TO QUIT® program

It is important to complete treatment. If your patient has a cigarette while trying to quit smoking, instruct them to keep using Nicorette® Gum and keep trying to quit.

If the amount of Nicorette® Gum your patient is taking does not help them stop smoking, reassess them and explore using more than one type of nicotine replacement therapy at the same time.

Chew the gum properly to be effective and avoid excess side effects

  • Chew the Gum until the taste becomes strong (typical 1–2 chews)

  • Rest the Gum between the cheek and gums (1 minute)

  • Chew and Repeat. After about 30 minutes all the medicine has been released

Keep out of reach of children and pets.
