Enhanced support for you and your patients: Learn about the Oral Care Literacy Campaign and access resources for your practice

We are focused on helping you by providing resources and samples to support your patients and enhance their oral health knowledge.

A healthy mouth begins at home

The majority of Canadians learn about the best oral health practices from their dentist. Remind your patients the importance of a comprehensive oral care routine that consists of brushing, flossing, and rinsing twice daily.

Holding the toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to the gumline, instruct your patients to gently brush across the entire tooth for 2 minutes, spending 30 seconds on each corner of the mouth. Afterwards, brush the tongue from back to front for another 15-30 seconds to remove any extra bacteria and food debris.

Brushing alone only reaches 25% of the mouth. 1,2 To reach places the toothbrush can’t, gently floss in a C-shape around each tooth two to three times.

For a whole-mouth clean, rinse with LISTERINE® Antiseptic Mouthwash for 30 seconds. This simple step ensures that your patients reach nearly 100% of their mouth, eliminating bacteria that hide in places brushing and flossing can’t reach that can cause bad breath, plaque and gingivitis.
