About the Presenters
Dr. Sanjukta Mohanta BSc, DDS
Dr. Sanjukta “Sanj” Mohanta is a general dentist practicing in Toronto at a dental charity, Filling the Gap Dental Outreach, which provides dental care at a low cost to people in need. She graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in 1999 and received the Alumni of Influence award. She started the New Dentist Study Club and hosts their podcast. Sanj is a writer, speaker, mentor, advocate and volunteer. She received the Ontario Dental Association’s (ODA) Merit Award and Service Award. Sanj provides dental care to remote Indigenous communities with the ODA’s Remote Areas Program and provides free dental care in the Caribbean with Great Shape! 1000 Smiles.
Lacey Smith, RDH
Lacey Smith is a Registered Dental Hygienist and Senior Dental Consultant for LISTERINE® Mouthwash, from Summerland, BC. She started her dental career at a young age as a Sterilization Technician in 2005. Lacey then graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario in 2009 and received the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler award. Soon after, she headed west for the mountains.
In 2015, after spending many years working in general practice, Lacey switched gears into periodontal practice and really enjoyed the challenges and triumphs of her years spent working in perio.
Since 2022, Lacey has been working for LISTERINE® Mouthwash, as a Senior Dental Consultant and Educator. She supports LISTERINE® with their Dental School Support Program, manages relationships with dental health professionals, as well as supports LISTERINE®’s conference presence throughout Canada. Lacey takes great pride in the opportunity to educate and mentor her peers, but also to learn from and alongside them.
